Pseudomonas cyclaminis Sawada et al. 2021.
Gram-negative rods, 0.9 x 1.9-2.5 µm. Motile by one to five polar flagella.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are are pale yellow to light cream in colour, opaque, round with entire to
somewhat undulate margins, raised, smooth, with glistened appearance, and usually
1-3mm in diameter after growth for 2days at 27 ºC. Produce fluorescent pigment
on King’s B medium. No diffusible pigments are produced. Grows at temperature of  
4-30 ºC, at pH values of 5.0-8.0 and in the presence of 0-6% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from bud blight lesions of cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum Mill.) in Miyagi, Japan. Negative for tobacco hypersensitive reaction.
Causes bacterial bud blight of cyclamen.

Positive results for alkaline phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, aesculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, beta-glucosidase, leucine
arylamidase, oxidase and trypsin. Weak reactions for esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), valine arylamidase, acid phosphatase, and
naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase.
Can assimilate (API 20 NE): D-glucose, L-arabinose, maltose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, potassium
gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid and trisodium citrate.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): trehalose, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, alpha-D-glucose, D-mannose, D-fructose, D-
galactose, D-fucose, L-rhamnose, inosine, D-sorbitol, D-mannitol, D-arabitol, myo-inositol, glycerol, D- and L-serine, glycyl-L-proline,
L-alanine, L-arginine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid, L-histidine, L-pyroglutamic acid, D-galacturonic acid, L-galactonic acid lactone,
D-gluconic acid, D-glucuronic acid, glucuronamide, mucic acid, quinic acid, D-saccharic acid, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, L-lactic
acid, citric acid, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, L-malic acid, Tween 40, gamma-aminobutyric acid, DL-beta-hydroxybutyric acid, propionic
acid, and acetic acid.

Negative results for cystine arylamidase, alpha-chymotrypsin, alpha-fucosidase, indole production, alpha- and beta-galactosidase,
beta-glucuronidase, alpha-glucosidase, N-acetyl beta-glucosaminidase, levan formation from sucrose, lipase (C14), alpha-
mannosidase, nitrate reduction, urease, acid production from: glucose and sucrose.
No assimilation of phenylacetate.
No utilization of:  dextrin, maltose, cellobiose, gentiobiose, sucrose, turanose, stachyose, raffinose, lactose, melibiose, beta-methyl-D-
glucoside, D-salicin, N-acetyl-beta-D-mannosamine, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, N-acetyl neuraminic acid, 3-methyl glucose, D-
glucose-6-phosphate, D-aspartic acid, gelatin, pectin, D-lactic acid methyl ester, D-malic acid, and acetoacetic acid.
