Pseudomonas floridensis Timilsina et al. 2018.
Gram-negative rods, 0.75 x 1.75-3.6 µm. Motile by multiple polar flagella.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are smooth and circular in shape, 0.5-1.0 mm diameter after incubation in
28 ºC for 24 h on Nutrient Agar (NA) medium. Fluorescent pigment is produced in
King’s B agar medium. Produce a yellowish, mucoid biofilm on NA suplemented with
5% sucrose. Growth occurs between 4 and 37 ºC (optimally at 26-29 ºC), at pH 5-8
and with up to 4% NaCl. Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from symptomatic tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) in Florida.
Resistant to troleandomycin, lincomycin, rifamycin sv, lincomycin, niaproof 4, vancomycin, tetrazolium violet and tetrazolium blue.
Pathogenic to tomato causing bacterial speck disease.
Induces a hypersensitive reaction on tobacco and soft rot on potato slices.

Positive results for catalase, beta-glucosidase, pectinolytic activity, acid production from: N-acetylglucosamine, 5-ketogluconate,
D-fucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-ribose and inositol.
Can utilize in API 20 NE: L-arabinose, glucose and phenylacetic acid.
Can utilize (Biolog GEN III): alpha-D-glucose, D-mannose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D-sorbitol, glycerol, L-alanine, L-aspartic acid,
L-glutamic acid, L-pyroglutamic acid, L-serine, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, L-lactic acid, gamma-aminobutryric acid, acetic acid,
D-mannitol, D-arabitol, myo-inositol, D-galacturonic acid, L-galactonic acid lactone, D-gluconic acid, D-glucuronic acid, mucic acid,
quinic acid, D-saccharic acid, D-malic acid, L-malic acid and citric acid.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase,  gelatinase, oxidase (positive in Rao's study), urease,  acid production from:  
2-ketogluconate, D-arabitol, D-arabinose, D-sucrose, L-fucose and L-rhamnose.
No utilization of adonitol, sucrose, N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-melibiose, D-raffinose, L-fucose, L-rhamnose and maltose.
