Positive results for catalase and oxidase.
Can utilize (API 20 NE): arabinose (weak), caprate, adipate and malate.
Can utilize (Biolog GN2): L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, glucuronamide, methyl pyruvate, L-lactic acid, Tween 40, beta-hydroxy-D,L-butyric
acid, acetoacetic acid, propionic acid, acetic acid, Tween 80, sebacic acid, L-asparagine, 1% sodium lactate and fusidic acid.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, beta-galactosidase, indole production and urease.
No utilization of : mannitol, gluconate, phenylacetate, D-maltose, D-trehalose, D-cellobiose, gentiobiose, sucrose, turanose,
stachyose, D-raffinose, alpha-D-lactose, D-melibiose, beta-methyL-D-glucoside, D-salicin, N-acetyL-D-glucosamine,

Basonym:
Pseudomonas gallaeciensis Mulet et al. 2018.
Gram-negative rods, 0.6 x 0.9–2.0 μm. Motile by one polar flagellum. Non-spore-
forming.
Colonies are round, convex, colour beige, bright and with entire margins (1-4 mm
diameter) on Luria-Bertani plates after incubation for 48 h at 30
ºC. Temperature
range 6-37
ºC (optimum 25-30), pH range 5-10, NaCl concentration for growth 2-13%
(optimum 7-15% NaCl). No fluorescence on King A and King B agar.
Isolated from sand samples taken at the Atlantic intertidal shore in Galicia, Spain, after the Prestige oil spill.
