Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.4–0.6 x 1.0–1.6 μm. Non-endospore-forming. Motile by a
single polar flagellum.
Colonies are 0.8-1.5 mm in diameter, smooth, non-pigmented and transparent after
cultivation on MA (pH 7.5) at 30 ºC for 4 days. Growth occurs at 4-35 ºC (optimum,
25-30 ºC) in TSB, at pH 6.5-10.5 (optimum, pH 8.0-8.5) in LB broth supplemented with
2% (w/v) NaCl, in the presence of up to 12.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1.0-2.0%) and in
LB without addition of NaCl. Facultatively aerobic.
Isolated from a surface water sample of Xiaochaidan Lake in Qaidam basin, Qinghai province, China.
Undetermined.
