Pseudomonas lalucatii Busquets et al. 2021.
Gram-negative rods, 3.4 x 5.4 µm. Motile by one polar flagellum. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on TSA agar are circular, flat, opaque, mucoid, beige coloured, with entire
edges and approximately 1-3 mm in diameter after incubation at 22 C for 2 days. No
pigment is produced when grown in King A or B mediums. Grows at 6-36 ºC, pH 6-10
and in the presence of 0-3% NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from rocks surfaces and water samples from a karstic cave, Mallorca (Balearic Island), Spain.

Positive results for catalase and oxidase.
Can assimilate (API 20NE): glucose, mannitol, gluconate, caprate, malate and citrate.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): alpha-D-glucose, Tween 40, D-mannitol, methyl pyruvate, gamma-amino-butyric
acid, D-fructose, L-alanine, L-arginine, D-gluconic acid, L-lactic acid, beta-hydroxy-D,L-butyric acid, glycogen, L-aspartic acid, citric
acid, L-glutamic acid, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, L-histidine, D- and L-malic acid, propionic acid, acetic acid , bromosuccinic acid,
glucuronamide (weak), D-fructose-6-phosphate (weak), D- and L-serine (other tests are negative).

Negative results for nitrate reduction.
No  assimilation of maltose.
No utilization of: pectin, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, dextrin, glycyl-L-proline, D-galacturonic , D-maltose, D-galactonic acid lactone,
D-lactic acid methyl ester, D-trehalose, D-galactose, myo-inositol, D-glucuronic acid, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, D- and L-fucose,
acetoacetic acid, sucrose, mucic acid, D-aspartic acid, quinic acid, inosine and D-saccharic acid.

Variable utilization of alpha-hydroxy butyric acid and alpha-ketobutyric acid. Contradictory results for mannose utilization.
