Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas lijiangensis Lu et al. 2022.
Gram-negative rods, 0.9-1.1 x 2.2-3.5 µm. Motile by amphilophotrichous flagella.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are light cream, opaque, with smooth surfaces, round with 1.0–3.0mm
diameter on LA plates incubated at 28°C for 24h and became grey when incubation
time was extended to 3days. Fluorescent pigment is formed. Grows on NA, TSA PDA,
CPG and MacConkey agars. Growth is observed at 10-35 ºC (optimum 25-30 ºC), at
6.0-10.0 (optimum, pH 7.0) and in the presence of 0-5% NaCl (w/v) (optimum, 3%).
Aerobic.
Isolated from black leaf spots of tobacco collected from Lijiang, Yunnan, PR China.
Produce black spots on tobacco leaves.

Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), beta-glucosidase, leucine
arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase and oxidase.
Can assimilate (API 20 NE): D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malic acid and
trisodium citrate.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): D-gluconic acid, alpha-D-glucose, D-mannose, L-lactic acid,
D-fructose-6-phosphate, citric acid, glucuronamide, acetic acid, L-malic acid.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, gelatin hydrolysis, beta-galactosidase, indole production, lipase (C14), nitrates reduction,
urease, valine arylamidase and acid production from D-glucose.
No assimilation of: N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid.
No utilization of: gentiobiose, D-galacturonic acid, Tween 40, D-fructose, D-galactose, L-galactonic acid lactone, D-glucuronic acid
and acetoacetic acid.
