Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas neustonica Jang et al. 2020.
Synonym: Neopseudomonas neustonica (Jang et al. 2020) Saati-Santamaria et al. 2021.
Gram-negative rods, 0.3-0.5 x 1.1-2.0 µm. Motile by means of one polar flagellum.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, circular, smooth and convex with 0.3–0.5 mm in diameter after 3
day incubation on TSA with 3% NaCl at 30 ºC. Grows at 10-40 ºC (optimum, 30 ºC), at
pH 5.0-8.5 (optimum pH 7.0-7.5) and in the presence of 0.5-10% (w/v) NaCl (optimum
3%). Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from the surface microlayer in coastal seawater of the Ross Sea (Antarctica).
Undetermined.
