Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas pisciculturae Duman et al. 2021.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.3-0.5 x 1.7-2.1 µm. Motile by lophotrichous flagellation.
Colonies on King B agar are round, flat, translucent and beige-coloured, with
regular margins, 2mm in diameter and the colour of the medium turns yellow after
growth for 2 days at 30 °C. Fluorescein pigment is produced, but pyocyanin is not.
The strain is gamma-haemolytic. Grows at 4-37 ºC, pH 7-10 and in the presence of
0-6% NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from farm cultured rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Turkey.
Isolated from a 0.5-1.0 g fry of rainbow trout displaying loss of appetite, anaemia and dorsal fin ulceration.
