Gram-negative, 0.5-1 / 2.5-4.5 µm, motile rods. Accumulates PHB.
Colonies are hemolytic. Fluorescent pigment is produced.
Strictly aerobic, optimal temperature 10-30 ºC, no growth at 4 ºC or 41 ºC.
Media: Trypticase Soy Agar ± 5% sheep blood, King medium B.

2-ketogluconate, D-malate, propylene glycol, phenylacetate, L-lysine and L-citrulline.
Negative results for denitrification, levan formation from sucrose, gelatin liquefaction, lecithinase (egg yolk) and lipase (Tween 80
hydrolysis).
No utilization of inosine, mannitol, D-xylose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, sucrose, trehalose, tartrate, m-tartrate, m-inositol,
testosterone, L-tryptophan, L-kynurenine, anthranilate and nicotinate.
Cannot be easily differentiated from Pseudomonas putida (admin note).
