Oxidative metabolism.

Positive results for arginin decarboxylation, catalase, oxidase, acid production from xylose.
Can utilize citrate, malonate, dextrin, L-arabinose, D-galactose, alpha-D-glucose, acetic acid, D-gluconic acid, propionic acid,
bromosuccinic acid, D- and L-alanine, L-alanylglycine, L-proline, gamma-amino butyric acid and formic acid.
Usually positive for D,L-lactic acid, D-saccharic acid, L-alaninamide, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid, L-serine and  
L-threonine.

Negative results for DNase, esculin hydrolysis, lysine hydrolysis, nitrate and nitrite reduction, ornithine hydrolysis, starch hydrolysis
and urease.
No utilization of: alpha-cyclodextrin, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, adonitol, D-cellobiose, i-erythritol, L-fucose,
gentiobiose, m-inositol, alpha-D-lactose, lactulose, maltose, D-melibiose, beta-methyl-D-glucoside, D-psicose, D-raffinose,
L-rhamnose, sucrose, cis-aconitic acid, D-galactonic acid, lactone, D-galacturonic acid, D-glucosaminic acid, D-glucuronic acid,
alpha-hydroxybutyric acid; gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, p-hydroxy phenylacetic acid, itaconic acid, malonic acid, quinic acid, sebacic
acid, succinamic acid, glycyl-L-aspartic acid, L-histidine, hydroxy-L-proline, L-leucine, L-ornithine, L-phenylalanine, L-pyroglutamic

glutaric acid, alpha-keto valeric acid, succinic acid, glucuronamide, glycyl-L-glutamic acid, D-serine and inosine.

Variable results for the utilization of Tween 40, D-mannose and D-fructose.

Gram-negative, short rods. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are smooth with regular margins, nonpigmented and 2 mm in diameter.
Produce a fluorescent pigment on King B medium. Growth occurs between 5 and 30
ºC. Growth on TSA supplemented with 6.5 % NaCl is not observed. Aerobic.
Isolated from Antarctic samples (James Ross Island).
