Pseudomonas purpurea Poli et al. 2024.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 1.6 x 3.3µm. Motile by two polar flagella. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are translucent and compact. After 48 h of growth, the cells produce a
diffusible light purple pigment. In R2A medium, cells can grow between 20 and 28 ºC
(optimum 28 ºC). Can grow between pH 5 and pH 7 and in 1% NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from the rhizosphere of wheat  in Grandcour, Switzerland.
Resistant to rifamycin SV, lincomycin, guanidine HCl, niaproof 4, vancomycin and potassium tellurite.
Undetermined.

fungal phytopathogens and with plant-beneficial properties. Front Microbiol 2024; 15:1440341.
Positive results for arginine dihydrolase (weak), beta-glucosidase, beta-galactosidase and urease (weak).
Can utilize (API 20 NE): glucose, N-acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malate and trisodium citrate.
Can oxidize (API 50 CH): amygdalin (weak), L-arabinose, esculin ferric citrate, D-cellobiose, D-saccharose and D-fucose.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): D-trehalose, alpha-D-glucose, glycerol, L-histidine, D-gluconic acid, L-lactic acid,
citric acid, alpha-keto-glutaric acid, L-malic acid, Tween 40, gamma-amino-butyric acid and beta-hydroxy-D,L-butyric acid.  All other
tests are negative.

Negative results for fermentation of glucose, gelatinase, indole production and reduction of nitrates to nitrites.
No assimilation of: adipic acid, L-arabinose, manose, maltose, mannitol and phenylacetic acid.
