Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, cystine arylamidase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), esculin
hydrolysis, indole production, lecithinase, leucine arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, oxidase, trypsin Tween 20
hydrolysis and valine arylamidase.
Can utilize as sole carbon source: L-proline, valeric acid, L-histidine, acetate (weak), adonitol, L-alanine, L-arabinose, D-arabitol,
3-hydroxybutyric acid, malonate (weak), maltose, D-mannose, L-rhamnose, sucrose, trehalose, turanose, malic acid, Tween 80,
pyruvic acid methyl ester, DL-lactic acid, L-glutamic acid, gluconate, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.7 x 1.5-2.0 μm. Motile by one polar flagellum. Non-spore-
forming. Cells can produce siderophores.
Colonies are smooth, convex and pale yellow after 2 days of incubation. The growth
temperature ranges from 25 to 37 ºC (4-45 ºC other study) (optimum 30 ºC), pH
5.0-9.0 (optimum pH 7.0) and tolerates less than 5% (w/v) NaCl. Grows well in solid
and semi-solid media, but cannot grow under strictly anaerobic conditions. Grows on
MacConkey agar.
Isolated from an oil-contaminated site in Taichung, Taiwan.
Sensitive to ampicillinsulbactam, ticarcillin, ticarcillin-pyo, ticarcillin-clavulanic acid, ticarcillin-clavulanic acidpyo, piperacillin/ureidopen,
piperacillin-pyo, piper+tazobactam, piperacillin/tazobactampyo, cefepime, imipenem, meropenem, ceftazidime, amikacin, gentamicin,
tobramycin, ciprofloxacin, colistin and cotrimoxazole.
