Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.4-0.6 x 1.0-2.5 µm. Motile by a single polar flagellum.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are circular and white. Does not produce a fluorescent pigment. Grows at
4-42 ºC, with optimum growth at 35 ºC at pH 7 and in the presence of 0-9 % NaCl,
with optimum growth at 1-3% NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from a sample of soil immersed in hot-spring water containing hydrocarbons in Toyotomi, Hokkaido, Japan.
