Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas triticifolii Tambong et al. 2023.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.6-1.0 x 2.0-4.5 µm. Motile by one, or multiple polar flagella.
Non-spore-forming.
After 48 h on King's B medium, colonies are white-yellowish and circular, 2-4 mm in
diameter, convex with regular margins and produce fluorescent pigments. Growth in
different NaCl concentrations optimal at 4%, and grows at 4 ºC with optimal growth at
28-30 ºC and no growth at 40 ºC. Aerobic.
Isolated from necrotic wheat leaf tissues naturally infected by Xanthomonas translucens from Alberta, Canada.

Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, cystine arylamidase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), beta-glucosidase,
leucine arylamidase, valine arylamidase and naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): methyl pyruvate, D-lactic acid methyl ester, glycyl-L-proline, L-alanine, glycerol,
D-glucose-6-phosphate, D-fructose-6-phosphate, D-aspartic acid, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, N-acetyl-beta-D-mannosamine,
N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, N-acetyl neuraminic acid, D-mannose, D-fructose, D-galactose, 3-methyl glucose, D-raffinose,
alpha-D-lactose, D-melibiose, D-arabitol, alpha-D-glucose, stachyose, myo- inositol, D-mannitol, D-sorbitol, D-cellobiose,
gentiobiose and L-serine.
Negative results for alpha-glucosidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase and beta-glucuronidase.
No utilization of: beta-hydroxy-D,L-butyric acid, D-mannitol, p-hydroxy-phenylacetic acid, L-arginine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid,
pectin, D-galacturonic acid, L-histidine, D- and L-fucose, D-gluconic acid, gelatin, sucrose, D-turanose, dextrin, D-maltose,
D-trehalose, L-lactic acid, citric acid, alpha-keto-glutaric acid, D- and L-malic acid, alpha-keto-butyric acid, acetoacetic acid, propionic
acid, acetic acid, D-glucuronic acid, glucuronamide, mucic acid, quinic acid and D-saccharic acid.
