Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 1-2 x 4-5 µm. Motile. Non-sporogenous.
Grows on TSA, nutrient agar, tryptic soy broth and cytophaga medium. Growth occurs
in up to 10% (w/v) NaCl and temperatures of 4-45 ºC (optimum 25-30 ºC). Aerobic.
Isolated from rainbow trout.
Isolated from the kidney of moribund rainbow trout.

Description is based on API 20E, API 20 NE and Biolog GEN III results.
Positive results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, gelatinase, nitrates reduction to nitrites, oxidase, acetoin production, acid
production from glucose.
Can assimilate: citrate, N-acetyl-glucosamine, gluconate, caprate, malate, D-galaturonic acid, D-gluconic acid, D-glucuronic acid,
p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, glucuronamide, L-pyroglutamic acid, D-serine and inosine.
Negative results for aesculin hydrolysis.
No utilization of: D-arabitol, D-mannitol, sucrose and D-saccharic acid.
