According to Shin et al. (2015), this species is a later heterotypic synonym of
Pseudomonas flexibilis (Hespell 1977) Shin et al. 2016.
Synonym: Serpens flexibilis Hespell 1977.
Gram-negative, motile with polar multitrichous flagella, sometimes twisted into a
fascicle or bundle, in a 24 hours culture; 0.5-1 x 3.0-9.0 µm.
Colonies are white, convex, round, translucent, waved on the edge and 3.0-6.0 mm in
diameter after 72 hours incubation on nutrient agar plates. Does not produce
fluorescent pigments. Aerobic, growth occurs at 15-42 ºC; no growth at 4 or 45 ºC.
Grows on medium containing 0-6.5% (w/v) NaCl. Grows on MacConkey agar.
Isolated from a sample of a bird’s nest in China.

Positive results for lecithinase, oxidase, catalase, urease, arginine dihydrolase, phenylalanine deaminase, Tween 20, 60 and 80
hydrolysis and nitrate reduction.
Can utilize Tween 40 and 80, L-arabinose, pyruvic acid methyl ester, succinic acid monomethyl ester, acetate, D- and L-lactic acid ,
succinic acid and D-xylose.

arabinose, xylose, melibiose, adonitol, fructose, lactose, inositol, raffinose, melezitose, methyl alpha-D-glucoside, sucrose, maltose,
