Gram-positive cocci, nonmotile, nonsporing, (0.74-0.92 μm in diameter). Occur singly
or grouped in pairs or tetrads.
Colonies are 2-5 mm in diameter (24h), circular, smooth, glossy, orange-pigmented
and nonhemolytic. Growth temperature 15-36 ºC. No growth at 4 and 42 ºC. No growth
in 4% NaCl. Media: Trypticase Soy Agar ± 5% sheep blood, P agar.
Isolated from llama skin (Lama glama L.). Susceptible to novobiocin 5 μg and moderate susceptible to novobiocin 1.6 μg.
